RV Adventure! Day Fourteen!

Unfortunately Neil woke up this morning not feeling well. I took the boys across the street to the beach while Neil took a nap and then he met us there later for a bit. It was a nice slow day, well... not so nice for Neil who had the flu, but you know what I mean....

Jake slept on the couch that folds out into a bed

Mark slept "upstairs"

Water at the Lake was shallow pretty far out,
that's Mark way out there in the black shirt

Jake wearing his "sun gwasses"

Daddy and Mark in the water

Eric sure does love the water!

Naptime after a fun afternoon at the beach

CUTE!

RV Adventure! Day Thirteen!

Today was a BIG DAY!!! Lots of fun to be had in Tahoe and we did a lot of it!
Started off the day with a drive to Squaw Valley. We stopped at a park there and the boys had fun playing in the "kitchen" feeding Daddy food, swinging and climbing everything. From there we stopped on the side of the road where we hiked down to the Truckee River (I use the word "hike" loosely, it's not like a mountain but we did go down) where the boys threw "boats" (sticks, leaves, pine cones...) into the water and watched them race away. After that we drove half way around the lake, the boys were napping in the car, so we took highway 50 up to my Grandparents old cabin. No one was home so Neil took my picture on the porch.
We drove back to the Lake (South shore) and rented a boat for the evening (Yeah! I KNOW! pretty cool huh?) Neil drove us out to Emerald Bay (see pics from day .... I dont know, a few days ago) and we stopped to have dinner (sub sandwiches) while Eric slept on the floor of the boat. The boys were a bit hesitant at first but in no time both were driving. Mark did most of the driving (and a LOT of horn honking!) and both he and Neil got in the Lake while Jake flew he flag warning other boaters (though Mark never left the comfort of the ladder, Daddy swam around the boat a few times). Driving back to North Shore we drive through a tunnel (the MUCH anticipated tunnel!) Per Jakes request Daddy did a U-Turn and we ended up going through the tunnel THREE TIMES!!
It was a GREAT day!

RV Adventure! Day Twelve!

Spent the morning touring around Incline Village looking at homes. Then took the boys to the beach to run off their energy! Mark had fun going to the top of the beach and collecting small rocks, filling his shirt with them then walking the heavy load to the water where he'd dump it in. Fearless Eric loves to crawl straight to the water, and since it's not very deep for several hundred feet out, he has fun splashing around and crawling out pretty far. Luckily all that water play usually made him pretty tired and he'd take a nice nap afterwards.  When we got home it was time for "sink baths!"

RV Adventure! Day Eleven!

Spent the day in Tahoe. Took the boys to the beach across the street in the morning. Then Neil took a shuttle to Reno to pick up a rental car for us to use for the next 5 days. When he got back we took a drive around the Lake. Stopped at a spot overlooking Emerald Bay. The boys had fun climbing on rocks and "hiking" around the area.

RV Adventure! Day Ten!

Woke up at Uncle Scots. Destination: Lake Tahoe!!!!!!
Went to Brunch with the family then left for our journey to Lake Tahoe. Got in in time to walk across the street to the beach. The boys had fun throwing rocks into the Lake.

RV Adventure! Day Nine!

Woke up in Folsom, took the boys and Grandma to the Sacramento Railroad Museum where we saw lots of trains and rode a steam engine. That evening we drove to Uncle Scots house where the kids got to meet Uncle Scot and Aunt Christina and all their cousins. The boys had lots of fun driving their cars and playing with their kittens.

RV Adventure! Day Eight!

Wow! Gone over a week now!
Left Oakland in the morning. Destination: Folsom! On our way we stopped at the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfax. Took a tour and the boys had fun seeing the factory and learning how Jelly Beans are made. Drove on to Grandma's house where Sara's mom set up a "party" for everyone to see us. Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Friends.... it was very nice. That night we drove across the street to Folsom Lake State Park to camp. Once set up, Neil, Mark and Jake went "upstairs" to Marks bed and watched Curious George.

RV Adventure! Day Seven!

Left Saratoga this morning and headed NORTH once again! Spent the afternoon in San Francisco. Started the day off with driving on the Golden Gate Bridge. After touring around and finding a parking spot at the Piers we hopped on the first "lectric train" and rode it for a few stops. We got off (somewhere, not sure where) and there was a trolly train! we hopped on that (again, not knowing - or caring - where it went) and got off at the top of a hill. Walked down the hill into China Town where we had some of the best fried rice EVER! We ate it at a park in China Town where the boys had fun playing and climbing and sliding.... We figured we were several blocks from the piers again so we grabbed a Taxi (the boys were loving all these rides!) to the wharf. We got a corndog for the boys to share (way too cute) and walked over to the Mechanical Museum where we played games from the early 1900's. We then CRAMMED in to another "lectric train" and rode it back to the RV.
We then drove South to have dinner with some friends of Neils who have kids and the kids had fun playing with toys and we enjoyed nice company and BBQ dinner. Left there around 9:00 and drove to Oakland to spend the night at another friends house. Late night, fun packed day, many adventures the boys will remember for a long time.

yeah, I know it's out of focus, the camera was having "focus problems" but it's proof that all 5 of us where together!

RV Adventure! Day Six!

Woke up in Saratoga. Destination: Saratoga! HA! (I know, you thought I was going
to say North!)
Well Neil had some work to do today and we were for the first time in six days farther than 28 feet apart :-( He went to some meetings for work. Aunt Ro and I took the boys to a local park that has a stream through it and the boys had fun playing in the stream getting soaked!

nap time!
