RV Adventure 2009! Day Three!

Sunday, August 23

Left San Simeon, Destination: Pfeiffer Big Sur

Before leaving, the boys took a walk around the campground with Daddy while Mommy got things ready to go.

Stopped along Hwy 1 at Jade Cove, Mark and Daddy hiked down.

Got in to Big Sur around 2:30. Our site was HUGE, Shady, lots of dirt for the kids to play with (site 95 for anyone interested in going sometime).  We walked about 50 yards to the river and the boys played, the on the way back to our site we stopped at the camp store and got some ice cream!

Neil made a fire and Mark and Eric roasted marshmallows while Jake made a train track "upstairs" and I cooked dinner.  We ate dinner by the fire, played in the dirt some more (it really is amazing how dirty a little boy can get, they will literally pour it on their bodies) then back inside where Mark and Daddy played some memory.

RV Adventure 2009! Day Two!

Saturday, August 22nd

Left McGrath State beach - Destination: San Simeon State Park

Along the way we stopped by Carpenteria State Beach.  The boys went for a walk to the beach while Ryan napped and Mommy made lunch in the RV.

Next stop, El Capitan State Beach, when we arrived there were several dolphins swimming in front of us.  Mark got to try out his new wetsuit while boogie boarding!  Then he, and later Jake, went fishing for sand crabs with some girls.  They caught quite a few using their nets.

When we got to the campsite at around 7:30, they gave us their best site (handicapped site, they can give it away if it's not claimed by a certain time).  It had a view of the ocean in the distance and we made it just in time for sunset and a rainbow! Then Daddy built a fire and the boys cooked dinner, hotdogs, the roasted marshmallows.

Back in the RV, Daddy played memory with Mark and Jake till about 11:30 when we all went to bed.

RV Adventure 2009! Day One!

Friday, August 21st

Left home this morning, destination McGrath State Beach

On the way there, we stopped by the sand hill just south of Ventura, some may recall last years pics of Mark and Daddy.  This year Mark, Jake, Eric and Daddy all went up.  (Eric on Daddy's shoulders).

We got to the campsite around 6:00 and the boys rode their bikes around and went "squirrel hunting".

the local botanical gardens has a new childrens play area, we went to check it out today and it was a LOT of fun!
